    Olaus Østensen f.1852 i Slagen, var sønn av Østen Poulsen f.1813 og Sara Maria Davidsdatter f.1816. Han ble gift med Pauline Andrine Paulsen i Tønsberg i 1882, og de fikk 6 barn sammen. I følge folketellinger arbeidet han som matros, og omkom som følge av et forlis i 1898 bare 46 år gammel. Han mønstret på dampskipet “Alf” 18.03.1898, og som det fremgår så skipet i november 1898, et sted i nærheten av Vaderøene ca 6 sjømil vest fra Fjellbacka på Sveriges vestkyst.

    Agnes Sofie Østensen was the oldest daughter of Pauline Andrine Paulsen. She married Granstrøm and had a daughter, Borghild Granstrøm. Agnes was an early widower, and ended up caring for her step-father Martin Carlsen( which also was a widower at the time.). Unofficially they had a daughter, Elsa Marry Granstrøm Carlsen. She is half-sister to Knut, Magnhild and Reidar.
