    • Bruk 2 (1/4 g.).
      Jon Paalsen 1803-30, sies at være fra Melsomvik, da han 1803 egtet Tor Jørgenssøns datter Elen Johanne, født her 1778. Jon døde 1839, 71 aar; hustruen 1852. Av ti barn (herav to par tvillinger) døde de fleste smaa. Vi nævner: 1. Ola Jonsen, se nedenfor. 2. tvillingbror Jørgen Jonsen, se bruk 4 nedenfor. 3. Anne Pernille, f. 1816, egtet 42 Nils Nilsen fra Nøtterø.
      Ola Jonsen 1831-76, kjøpte 1831 bruket av staten for 200 spd. og jordavgift. Kjøpte desuten part av br. 4. Født 1807; gift 1. 1833 m. Anne Karine Amundsdatter Kverne, f. 1810, døde 1862; gift 2. 1867 m. Anna Kaisa Karlsdatter (svensk). Ola døde 1876. Barn efter første hustru (flere døde unge): Johan Arnt, f. 1833 (blind); Olaves Kristian, f. 40, egtet 70 Nikoline Larsen Hvaal; Elen Lovise; Torvald.
      Ved skiftet efter Ola Jonsen blev jordveien utlagt sønnen Olaves, men han overdrog den til stedmoren.

      Ola kjøpte gården Vestre Gihle Grnr 12 i 1831, og han døde i 1877. Anne Kajsa Karlsdatter solgte gården 10 år senere til lærer Thomas Andreas Slaatten som hadde overtatt på Gihle skole etter Hansen.

      Tvillingbror til Ola heter Jørgen, og som eier en annen gård på Gihle.
