T.H.Skogland: Havarerte 21/02/1923 på Farallones Rock ved Bayona utenfor Vigo, Spania mens hun var på reise fra Kristiania via Hamburg og Le Havre, Frankrike til Rio de Janeiro med kull og stykkgods. Hun hadde en lekter på slep som hadde 7 mann ombord. 6 mann omkom. Georg Henry had a sister, Johanne Marie (1897). They lived in Festningsgata 15, Kristiansand, until Georg was 7 years old. Both their parents died. The father died between 1902 and 1905 (not confirmed), and the mother n June 1905. April 2013: New Info: Another brother, Otto William, was born in Aug 1902. The children was taken in care at 'Weisenhaus' home for orphans, Brønnstykket 5, Kristiansand. The home had a reputation for being horrible, and the kids had a terrible time while living there. Geord lived there until he was confirmed in 1910. 15 years old he escaped to sea, and never returned to Kristiansand. His sister Marie was merried to 'Josef Tommi Lie' from Flekkefjord, in 1919 they had a son, John. In 1923 they migrated t USA , and settled down in Brooklyn New York, USA. Georg was a sailor, and visited his sister in NY many times. Marie's son 'John' joined the army and was Killed in Action in 1943, buried in Tunisia. Marie died in Arizona in 1948, and her husband died in Los Angeles California in 1964. Georg Henry came to Tønsberg, for the first time, together with one of Magnhilds brothers which he sailed with.This is how he met Magnhild, which he merried in 1926. His last trip was onboard D/S Fagerheim which was sunk by a torpedo or mine 14 January 1944. He was a 'Donkeyman', but was promoted to 2nd Engineer on his last voyage that ended in the ' Bay of Biscaya'. The ship was on her voyage from 'Dje Gelli',Algerie to Middlesborogh, Great Britain. At the time of the accident Magnhild with her two daughters, Liv and Gjerd, lived in 'Håkon Gamlesgate 7' in Tønsberg. Magnhild since then bought a house in 'Erlandsensgate 4', Tønsberg ( of the sum 25.000,- NOK).
